    GURUPURAB CELEBRATIONS

    CLASSES : PRE-SCHOOL – II GURUPURAB CELEBRATIONS

The celebration of Guru Nanak Jayanti, commemorating the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji was marked with great enthusiasm and reverence across the Primary Wing on Tuesday, 04 November 2025. Each class participated in activities designed to impart the teachings and values of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, fostering an atmosphere of spirituality and unity.

Pre-School: The day started with a heartfelt prayer session where children recited the ‘Mool Mantra’ under the guidance of their teachers. The significance of the mantra was explained using relatable examples that resonated with young minds. To enhance cultural understanding, students came dressed in traditional attire and brought a scarf/handkerchief to cover their heads.

A captivating story time followed, where teachers presented an enlightening skit on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak’s Dev ji and emphasizing the three golden rules:

    • Naam Japo (Remember God's name)
    • Kirat Karo (Earn honestly)
    • Vand Chakho (Share with others)

Children also watched a short and inspiring movie on Guru Nanak Devji. They were also engaged in a creative activity wherein they decorated the Gurudwara with golden glitter.

Pre-Primary: The pre-primary class celebrated with equal zeal. Children with their heads covered, were immersed in the stories of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life and teachings, reinforced with examples that highlighted the relevance of the three golden principles. The session concluded with the children listening to the ‘Ek Onkar’ verse, meditating with closed eyes as the divine melody filled the classroom.

Class I : Students of Class I experienced an enriching celebration where they watched a video that not only explained the significance of Guru Nanak Jayanti but also introduced them to the ten Sikh Gurus. The story of Guru Nanak Dev Ji was retold with enthusiasm, and children recited ‘Ek Onkar’ with devotion, immersing themselves in the spiritual ambiance.

Class II : Class II hosted a special assembly titled ‘Prakash Utsav’ to mark the occasion. The event began with a soulful prayer followed by the story of the Sacha Sauda, where Guru Nanak ji used money meant for profit to feed hungry sadhus, teaching the world that true profit lies in kindness and generosity. Speakers from the class highlighted the festival's importance and Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings, reinforcing values of equality and righteousness.

The celebration of Guru Nanak Jayanti across all classes was a resounding success. Through prayers, stories, creative activities and assemblies, students learnt valuable lessons on love, kindness and equality. The teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji—emphasizing brotherhood and ethical living—continue to guide us on a path of compassion and harmony.
