SCHOOL POLICIES AND DISCIPLINARY MEASURES
SCHOOL TIMINGS :
- The school begins at 7:30 a.m. for Classes Pre-School to XII (both Summers & Winters).
- School gates will not open before 7:10 a.m. for the entry of private commuters.
- All the school gates will close at sharp 7:40 a.m. Thereafter, entry will not be permitted under any circumstances.
CODE OF CONDUCT :
- A fine of ₹1000/- will be charged from those students who indulge in destroying or damaging school property, bursting crackers, using unfair means during tests/exams, including disobedience, rowdyism or violence in any form.
- Students are NOT allowed to bring Mobile phones, I-Pads, Smart watches or Cameras to school.
Defaulters shall be dealt with very strictly. Parents of those students found in possession of any of the above, would be required to submit a fine of ₹1000/- to the school.
- Students are NOT allowed to bring any sharp-edged instrument to school, e.g. Knife, Cutter, Blade or any other prohibited items into the school premises. Defaulters will be liable to face immediate suspension.
- Parents must refrain from using mobile phones in the school premises.
- Students are strictly prohibited from commuting to school using petrol, diesel, or electric vehicles including bikes, scooters, scooties or cars. Additionally, such vehicles will not be permitted inside the school premises.
- The following undesirable behaviour / repeated indiscipline will lead to strict disciplinary action, if not corrected:
- Missing classes under any pretext.
- Writing or drawing anything on the walls/school furniture/library books.
- Indulging in uncivilized behaviour or using abusive language.
- Scribbling or writing anything on the school uniform.
- Bullying or using any form of physical/emotional/verbal violence against a fellow student or any member of the staff.
- Shouting or misbehaving in the school premises.
- Running in the corridors and staircases while moving from one classroom to another between periods.
- Bursting crackers or throwing colour on one another within or near the school premises.
- Using unfair means during a test/examination.
- Indulging in any misbehaviour/misdeed directly or online which could be derogatory for the institution.
- Littering in the school compound.
- Not wearing proper school uniform as per the school guidelines.
- Not wearing RFID Cards.
RFID Cards
RFID cards are issued to students in order to ensure their safety and security at all times. Students are required to wear these cards around their neck. Cameras/Readers are installed in the school campus and school buses which are powered with a sense to identify students who enter and exit the school campus/buses. SMS Alerts are sent to the parents/guardians on their registered mobile number indicating ‘On Board’, ‘Entered School’, ‘Exit School’ and ‘Deboarded’. This helps in generating Attendance Report of the students travelling by the bus and entering/exiting the school.
Disciplinary Measures
The following disciplinary measures can be adopted by the school:
- Counselling
- Oral warning
- Written warning
- Issuing Red Cards
- Expulsion
Red Card
- A Red Card will be issued to a student indulging in serious offences like missing classes, reporting late to class, constantly interrupting the teaching process, indulging in rude and unacceptable behaviour in the classroom.
- A Red Card holder will not be allowed to avail any privileges in the school during the period stipulated on the card.
- The defaulters will not be allowed to attend any school function, picnics or outings.
- The defaulters will report to their respective class teachers for detention during break time and P.E. periods.
- The defaulters will be made to sit in the library and a detention register will be maintained by the Librarian.
Recommendations to Parents/Guardians
Parents are requested:
- to closely monitor their ward’s progress by checking the School Almanac every day and paying attention to their punctuality, discipline and timely submission of school assignments.
- to encourage their ward to take a balanced interest in studies, co-curricular activities and sports.
- to inform the school immediately if there is any change in address, telephone numbers and bus route.
- to ensure that their ward does not bring any expensive items, electronic items, cell phones etc. or a large sum of money to school. The school bag should be randomly checked to ensure the same.
- to restrict pocket money to a minimal. Excessive spending in school should be discouraged.
- to restrict celebration of birthdays of their ward in school to simple distribution of candies. Elaborate arrangements like cutting of cake & partying in the classroom are not permitted.
- to explain to the child the need to look after his/her belongings. The school does not accept responsibility for any item lost in school. All articles belonging to the child should have identification details.
- to ensure that their ward is in proper school uniform. No fancy jewellery like bracelets, bangles, danglers, trinkets, anklets, studs etc. should be worn by the girls/boys.
- to ensure that their ward does not wear/carry smart watch to school.
- to avoid taking half-day leave very frequently. In case of an emergency, written permission must be taken from the Principal / Vice Principal / Headmistress and the Class Rep / Class Teacher. In case a child leaves the school early, it is mandatory to inform the respective Bus Incharge about the same (if using school transport).
- to ensure that their ward’s absence from school, work done in the class is not left incomplete.
- to provide a supportive value-based environment to their ward at home. To use discretion and parental judgement and keep track of their ward’s mental health.
- to monitor the internet sites being visited by their ward and limit Television viewing to appropriate programmes and duration.
- to contact school to discuss and decide a plan of action to handle the difficulties (academic as well as behavioural) of their ward and to seek guidance. Response to your letters will be provided after discussion with the concerned teachers.
- to ensure that their ward appears for all tests as per the schedule given in the Almanac/ Datesheet. In case the child is unable to take the examination, prior intimation must be given to the Class Teacher in writing.
- to discourage their ward from taking additional leave before the commencement of examinations.
- to ensure that their ward's school bag is packed strictly according to the timetable in order to prevent it from becoming unduly heavy.
- to adhere to a formal dress code for any school visit including picking / dropping of their wards.
