EPORT ON VISIT TO ETERNAL GANDHI MUSEUM

On 14 October 2025, a total of 210 students of Class VI accompanied by 14 teachers visited the Eternal Gandhi Museum. The visit offered the young learners an opportunity to explore the life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation.

The museum showcases rare photographs, letters, and interactive exhibits that narrate Gandhi’s journey of truth and non-violence. Students also learned that it was at this very site that Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on 30th January 1948, while on his way to a prayer meeting. This left a profound impact on everyone, as they reflected on the supreme sacrifice he made for the nation.

The trip helped inculcate in students the values of peace, tolerance, simplicity, and non-violence, which remain relevant even today. Teachers guided discussions that encouraged students to adopt these values in their own lives.

The visit to the Eternal Gandhi Museum proved to be an enlightening and inspiring experience for both students and teachers.

CLASSES: PRE-PRIMARY V DIWALI CELEBRATIONS

"The Festival of Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance."

CLASS : PRE-PRIMARY

Diwali- The festival of lights’ was celebrated at DPS Dwarka by the students of class Pre-Primary with great pomp and enthusiasm. The celebrations began with a banner walk by the children, with an aim to spread awareness about firecrackers causing noise and air pollution and numerous health hazards to human beings and animals. Principal ma’am, Ms. Priya Narayanan flagged off the walk, emphasizing the significance of eco-friendly Diwali celebrations. Students showcased their creativity in an Intra-Section Rangoli colouring competition. They enthusiastically coloured their rangoli sheets, paying attention to colour schemes and overall presentation. A captivating story about the importance of celebrating Diwali signifying, 'let us move from untruth to truth and from darkness to light' was narrated to the children, adding to the festive spirit. All classes adorned in festive look, the celebrations continued as the children decorated diyas, made decorative wall hangings, created flower rangolis, and paper lanterns thus creating a perfect setting for the festival and reinforcing the idea of celebrating a safe, green and pollution free Diwali.

CLASSES I & II

The young learners of Class I were shown Power-Point Presentation about Diwali celebrations. The enthusiasm of children made the celebrations sparkling and full of happiness as they decorated diyas and rangoli sheet. To rekindle warmth and lights of the festival, children came dressed up in traditional clothes. Class II children celebrated the auspicious festival by creating beautiful rangolis. Through watching videos related to the epic ‘Ramayana’, the significance of celebrating ‘Deepavali’ and the message of ‘Victory of light over darkness’ was understood by them.

CLASSES III – V

With an aim to celebrate the spirit of Diwali and spread the message of light triumphing over darkness, a special morning assembly titled “Diwali – The Festival of Lights” was held in the classes. The assembly began with a soulful prayer followed by a thought for the day. A short speech highlighting the significance of Diwali was delivered, which emphasized the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. The students spoke about the cultural and spiritual importance of the festival and how it brings joy, togetherness, and positivity. A poem capturing the spirit of Diwali was beautifully recited by the students, expressing the vibrant colours, twinkling diyas, and festive cheer associated with the festival.

The assembly reminded everyone of the deeper meaning behind the celebration and the need to spread love, light, and happiness. It concluded with the national anthem and a pledge to celebrate Diwali in an eco-friendly and responsible manner. It was a heartwarming celebration that brought alive the true essence of the festival.

The Diwali celebration was educational, engaging, and enjoyable for all the students as they decorated their respected classes with colourful diyas and lanterns. It was heartening to see the active involvement of students in making this celebration a memorable one.

WORKSHOP ON INNOVATION, SKILL AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT

A workshop on Innovation, Skill and Entrepreneurship Development was conducted for the students of Classes VIII and IX on October 17, 2025 in the school auditorium. The session aimed to ignite creative thinking among young minds and to encourage them to develop an entrepreneurial outlook from an early age.

The resource person Ms. Meghna Joshi (Founder of SWAN LIVELIHOOD) - Skilled Wokforce Advancing Nation, shared valuable insights through interactive activities and real-life examples. She conducted an Entrepreneurship Quotient which tested the entrepreneurship acumen of students on various parameters. Students also participated enthusiastically in brainstorming sessions and idea-generation games.

The aim of the workshop was highlighting the importance of skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, communication and leadership in shaping future entrepreneurs. It also motivated students to view challenges as opportunities and to think beyond traditional career paths.

Overall, the session proved to be highly inspiring and informative. The resource person encouraged the students to participate in Start-up Challenges and Business Idea competitions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the speaker for making the session a memorable learning experience.

WORLD STATISTICS DAY 2025

To mark the celebration of World Statistics Day 2025, the students of Class XI, DPS Dwarka participated in an interactive activity. A PowerPoint presentation was prepared by members of ECOPHORIA – the Economics Club. The students were apprised of the historical, social and economic aspects of World Statistics Day 2025.

The students were also shown videos which emphasized the importance of the day and the importance of UDISE+ in the field of education. A quiz based on the session was conducted in the end.

The session played a crucial role in helping the students understand social, economic and environmental trends enabling informed decision making.

CLASSES: III & IV NIE WORKSHOPS

Day/Date: Thursday, 16 October 2025

An NIE Workshop was conducted on 16 October 2025 for the students of Classes III and IV. The session aimed to enhance the students’ creativity and interest in art and craft activities. The resource person began the workshop with an engaging demonstration, explaining the steps and techniques clearly.

Students of Class III enthusiastically made beautiful Bandhanwars, while Class IV students designed attractive Door Hangings using the materials they had brought from home. The children showed great imagination and skill as they decorated their creations with colourful embellishments.

The workshop proved to be a wonderful learning experience, allowing students to explore their artistic abilities. They participated with excitement and enjoyed the activity thoroughly

CLASS: PRE-SCHOOL DIWALI CELEBRATIONS
Day/Date: Thursday, 16 October 2025

‘The greatest significance of Diwali is to light up new, bright and colourful dreams, fresh hopes and undiscovered ways.”

The exhilaration and celebratory spirit that Diwali brings is unmatchable. Children of preschool heralded the festival of lights by presenting a cultural extravaganza with great joy and enthusiasm on 16 October 2025.

The assembly began on an auspicious note with mellifluous song rendition by our young dipsites followed by the ceremonial Laxmi- Ganesh Puja by our respected Principal, Madam Priya Narayanan and Vice Principal, Madam Anubha Malhotra symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. The students talked about the significance of the festival - how good always conquers the evil and emphasized on the need to celebrate a peaceful and green Diwali and to save earth from excessive noise and air pollution. This was followed by a short skit in which students dressed up as various characters from the Ramayana depicted Lord Ram's return to Ayodhya after vanquishing Ravana in a battle. The theatrical "Ek Hue The Raja Ram " brought the spirit of love, faith, and devotion, and took everyone through the beautiful story of the righteous prince of Ayodhya, the ideal wife Sita, and the powerful learned demon, the King of Lanka, Ravana. The children depicted the story beautifully capturing the essence of the characters. They embodied the spirit of each character with immaculate expressions, costumes and theatrical skills. The assembly came to a close with a captivating dance performed by the children.

Adding to the magic, children painted earthen diyas , decorated them and made beautiful decorative lanterns, spreading festive cheer all around! Children collaboratively created vibrant rangolis, adding warmth and a festive charm to the day; signifying that Diwali is more than just a celebration — it’s about togetherness, creativity, and memories that shine bright!!

CLASS: I VISIT TO THE AIR FORCE MUSEUM
Day/Date: Wednesday, 15 October 2025

An educational trip was organised for the students of Class I to the Air Force Museum, Palam, New Delhi on Wednesday, 15 October 2025. The experience proved to be an enriching one for the young learners by fostering patriotism and sparking interest in future careers as pilots or in aviation related fields

The museum showcased a vast collection of aircrafts, including vintage planes, helicopters, modern fighter jets. Some of the notable exhibits included Spitfire, Tiger Moth, and MiG-25. The museum also features an impressive display of aircraft engines, radar systems and communication equipments along with the War Memorial Gallery.

Students keenly observed the display gallery that contained uniforms and personal weapons of the Indian Air Force, from its inception in 1932. Children were guided by an official, who enlightened them about various anti-aircraft guns, vehicles, radar equipment, war trophies and enemy vehicles.

The excursion proved to be a fun-filled learning experience for the young children. It not only provided them with knowledge about aviation and the Air Force but also sparked their curiosity and imagination.

CLASS : III – V GREEN CANOPY WEEK

To encourage students to protect environment and understand the importance of greenery in maintaining ecological balance ,Green Canopy Week was celebrated by classes III to V from Monday, 6 October 2025 to Friday 10 October 2025 with great enthusiasm .

Students of Classes III to V actively participated in this green initiative by bringing plant saplings from home. What made the activity truly special was the creative use of old or waste containers — such as bottles, cans, and jars — to pot their plants, promoting the idea of ‘Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.’

Each class created its own mini class garden, with 30 plants each as part of the 30^th anniversary celebration of school. Students arranged their potted plants beautifully, transforming classrooms into vibrant green corners. Teachers guided the students on plant care, watering schedules, and the importance of trees in keeping the air clean and cool.

The children pledged to nurture their plants regularly. The activity not only taught them the value of nature but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

The Green Canopy Week was a wonderful step towards building a greener and more sustainable future, one sapling at a time.

CLASSES VIII-XII LIVE STREAMING OF VIKSIT BHARAT BUILDATHON 2025
Date: October 13, 2025

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Delhi Public School, Dwarka organized the Live streaming of Buildathon 2025, conducted by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog on October 13, 2025, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm in the School Auditorium.

The objective of conducting the live streaming was fostering innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills among students. The event aimed to provide a platform for young learners to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical challenges and to encourage a spirit of teamwork and entrepreneurship.

The Buildathon was inaugurated by the Minister of Education Shri Dharmender Pradhan, who addressed the participants from schools all over India and emphasized the importance of innovation and collaboration in today's rapidly evolving world. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Classes VIII to XII, who formed teams to design and develop working prototypes, addressing real-life issues.

Throughout the event, students worked under the guidance of respected mentor Prof. Rao from IIT Delhi, who kept them engaged online through various brainstorming sessions, designing solutions, and building models using available materials and technology. The atmosphere was filled with creativity, curiosity and collaboration as participants turned their ideas into tangible outcomes.

Some of the notable ideas presented during the event by class IX students included:

A Device for blind and otherwise visually impaired students

• Smart Waste Sorter : A prototype that automatically segregates waste based on type.
• Traffic Congestion sorter apps
• An app for shy and introvert students

In his encouraging remarks to students, Hon’ble Minister Mr. Pradhan encouraged the participating students to do critical thinking so as to ensure feasible solutions.

The Buildathon 2025 successfully achieved its objective of inspiring students to think innovatively and work collaboratively. It was a significant step towards nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset and promoting experiential learning among the youth.

CLASSES: PRE-SCHOOL - V ANNUAL FEST: MÉLANGE 2025
Day/Date: Saturday, 11 October 2025

DPS Dwarka stands committed to the pursuit of excellence in education, so as to help students enhance their knowledge and shape their perspectives. Holistic development of students is of utmost importance, so that they grow up to be an asset to the society. As a step forward in this direction, DPS Dwarka organized the ANNUAL FEST 2025 on Saturday, 11 October 2025. A multitude of innovative and interesting events were planned for the students to cater to their diverse skills and to provide a unique platform to exhibit their expertise.

The fest offered an extraordinary opportunity for students of Pre-School – Class V to showcase their brilliance across various disciplines including Science, Math, Computer Science, Art, Music, Dance and much more. Through these events, the participants got an opportunity to find their forte and make their mark. Students also got a chance to engage with peers from different schools, exchange ideas and expand their horizons. This fest aimed to foster healthy competition, knowledge-sharing and camaraderie among the brightest of minds. The events for Primary Wing were held under the name Mélange 2025, wherein the competitions were divided into three categories, namely Offline (Submission Mode), Online and On-site.

Under the Offline Category, children of Pre-School enthusiastically participated in an art competition, ‘Creature Feature’ wherein they designed an imaginary creature using a variety of craft and other waste material, thereby enhancing their creative imaginative skills. In Pre-Primary, participants created a three-dimensional model of a robot of the size of a standing shoe box to depict mechanization in modern society. While students of Class 1 created captivating table mats based on famous stories, our young enthusiasts from Class 2 designed superhero masks and costumes inspired by any superhero character chosen by them. Students from Class 4 participated in the ‘Munch on Math - Mathelicious Menu’ competition, wherein they prepared a menu booklet which comprised items inspired by Mathematical concepts, terms or symbols.

Under the Online Category, the event ‘Envisage’ was held. Participants of Class V designed a dream smart home using new technologies. They were required to use themes, hyperlinks, action buttons, inserting media etc. and create a presentation on the theme “Buttons, Bots and Brainy Homes-Future at your Fingertips.” All children indeed demonstrated impressive technological skills.

Under the On-site Category of events, students of classes III and IV participated in the ‘Once Upon a Sale: Fairy Tale Props Market!’ competition wherein they created and presented a fun and imaginative advertisement to sell a famous magical item or prop used by a well-known character from a fairy tale or children's story. In a separate competition, children also prepared a healthy breakfast including a vegetarian sandwich, dip and drink (3 components in all) within a time limit of 2 hours. Students from Class 4 visualized and composed a poster showcasing Digital India, keeping the poster aligned with the theme of digital innovation, technology and progress.

Celebrating days related to the environment, provides a platform for advocacy and collective efforts to address environmental issues. In consonance with this, participants of Classes 4 and 5 prepared a calendar of any two consecutive months citing any one important day / event related to the environment in each of the selected months within a time period of 2 hours.

In the Debate Competition, ‘The Big Fight’, two participants of Class 5 from each school spoke in Hindi and English on the given motions by the host school. Much confidence was displayed by all orators. In the Hindi Competition, ‘Bhavon ke Rang… Navras ke Sang’, participants selected any one ‘rasa’ (emotion) out of the nine ‘rasas’ in Hindi. The participants presented a short act or dialogue based on the chosen ‘rasa’, with appropriate expressions and gestures.

The event, ‘Fusion Tatva’, facilitated students of classes IV and V to display their melodious talent of preparing a ‘bandish’ with a western touch to present a fusion. Moreover, students’ innovative dancing skills were showcased through the competition, ‘Shakti’, wherein children depicted the theme of ‘Women Empowerment’ in any Semi-Classical dance form or Contemporary Style. All children performed with effortless elegance and grace. Apart from this, students of Class 5 participated in presenting a Mathematical Podcast, which enhanced their critical thinking skills, giving them a chance to connect Mathematics to modern tools.

To sum up, the annual fest proved to be a remarkable celebration of talent, creativity and community spirit. The dedication and enthusiasm of every participant have truly made this event memorable. Moreover, the fest reminds us of significance of collaboration and the joy of shared experiences which result in delightful memories to be cherished by one and all.

MÉLANGE- SPECTRUM: THE ANNUAL FEST 2025

Delhi Public School, Dwarka, resonated with enthusiasm and creative brilliance as it hosted MÉLANGE- SPECTRUM: The Annual Fest 2025, on Saturday, 11 October 2025. This mega inter-school celebration brought together innovation, intellect, and imagination under one roof, offering students a platform to explore, express, and excel.

A plethora of 101 dynamic online and on-site events were planned by various departments, each curated to inspire curiosity and creativity. From the analytical rigour of Budget-o-nomics the entrepreneurial flair of Literary Shark Tank, to the ingenuity of Robosoccer and the digital innovation showcased in Digital India, the fest celebrated the limitless potential of young minds.

Adding colour and cultural zest, events like Math-o- Drama, Paperscape, Fusion Tattva, Bot Out of Waste, Fuel your Morning with Flavour wove together art, aesthetics, and expression. The excitement extended to the sports arena as well with spirited matches of football, table tennis and chess, where participants displayed remarkable skill and sportsmanship. The campus buzzed with energy as participants debated, designed, coded, danced, painted, and performed with passion and precision.

With participation from 27 eminent schools across Delhi and NCR, and over 2300 students, the fest became a magnificent confluence of talent and teamwork.

The team from DPS Noida emerged as the Overall Winner, marking a befitting conclusion to the day. The event aimed to nurture a spirit of healthy competition, echoing DPS Dwarka’s vision of holistic education.

Ms. Priya Narayanan, Principal, DPS Dwarka, lauded the enthusiasm and competitive spirit of all participants and organising teams in making MÉLANGE- SPECTRUM 2025 a truly memorable event.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
Date: 10 October 2025

Objective:

• The objective of observing World Mental Health Day was to spread awareness about the importance of emotional well-being. The initiative aimed to help students understand feelings, show empathy and promote a positive and caring school environment.

Activities Conducted:

Story and Discussion (Classes III- V)

• Teachers shared a short story highlighting the importance of expressing feelings and caring for one’s mental health. This was followed by a brief discussion where students shared their thoughts on how to stay happy and calm in everyday life.

Poster-Making Activity (Classes III–V)

• Students enthusiastically made posters on the theme “Understanding Mental Health.” Their creative artwork and thoughtful messages reflected the importance of kindness, self-care and emotional balance.

Conclusion:

• World Mental Health Day was observed with enthusiasm and reflection. The activities encouraged students to express their emotions freely and understand that taking care of mental health is as important as caring for physical health.

CLASSES : I – V AWARENESS AND SENSITIZATION MODULE
ACTIVITY: INDIAN AIR FORCE DAY
Date: 08 October 2025

As part of the Awareness and Sensitization Module, an activity on Indian Air Force Day was conducted for the students of classes I to V on Wednesday, 08 October 2025.

The aim of the activity was to make students aware of the bravery, discipline, and service of the Indian Air Force and to instill a sense of patriotism and respect for the defenders of our nation. Students enthusiastically participated by making paper airplanes decorated with the IAF insignia. Through this creative and engaging activity, they learned about the role of the Air Force in safeguarding the nation’s skies and imbibed the values of courage, dedication, and teamwork, fostering a deep sense of pride and gratitude towards the armed forces.

On 9th October 2025, a total of 204 students of Class 7 from Delhi Public School, Dwarka visited the Eternal Gandhi Museum as part of an educational excursion. The visit aimed to acquaint students with the life, principles, and contributions of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation.

Students explored various exhibits that showcased Gandhi’s journey through rare photographs, letters, and digital displays depicting his philosophy of truth and non-violence. Interactive installations and multimedia presentations helped students understand the relevance of Gandhian values in contemporary times.

The visit was both informative and inspiring, offering students valuable insights into India’s freedom struggle and the ideals that shaped it. The students returned with a renewed sense of respect for Gandhiji’s teachings and their importance in building a peaceful society.

CEREBRAL PALSY AWARENESS INITIATIVE

Date: 06 October 2025
 

Objective:

• The Cerebral Palsy Awareness Initiative aimed to sensitize students about cerebral palsy and highlight the importance of fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for children with physical disabilities.

Activity Conducted:

Pledge for Inclusivity:

• Students from Classes I to V participated in a classroom pledge taking activity to express their support for individuals with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities. The pledge encouraged students to show empathy, respect, and acceptance, promoting the values of equality and inclusion within the school community.

Conclusion:

• The initiative effectively enhanced students’ awareness of the experiences and challenges faced by individuals with cerebral palsy. Through the pledge, children expressed their commitment to building a compassionate and inclusive environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and accepted.

CLASSES : III - V AWARENESS AND SENSITIZATION ACTIVITY
GANDHI JAYANTI & INTERNATIONAL DAY OF NON-VIOLENCE
Date: 03 October 2025

As part of the Awareness and Sensitization Module, special activities were organized for classes III –V on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and International Day of Non-Violence on 3rd October 2025.

Students of classes III and IV enthusiastically participated in a Slogan Writing Activity, where they designed creative slogans based on the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi such as truth, non-violence, simplicity, cleanliness, and self-reliance. They brought colourful A-4 sheets and art materials, wrote inspiring slogans, and spoke a few lines about them. The completed slogan sheets were displayed in the classrooms as a tribute to the Father of the Nation. As part of the celebrations, Class IV also conducted an assembly on Gandhi Jayanti followed by a thought of the day on non-violence. Students presented speeches and short presentations highlighting Gandhiji’s life, values, and contributions, reminding everyone of the relevance of his teachings in today’s world.

In addition, students of class V also took part in making a spinning wheel (Charkha), symbolizing the Swadeshi Movement initiated by Gandhiji. Through this hands-on activity, they learned about Gandhiji’s principles of honesty, patriotism, truth, and non-violence, and understood the importance of self-reliance and simplicity in daily life.

Both activities not only celebrated Gandhiji’s contributions to India’s freedom struggle but also inspired the students to follow his ideals of peace, truth, and service to the nation. The sessions were educational, creative, and inspiring, leaving a deep impression on young minds.

CLASS-VIII VISIT TO NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTER
Day/ Date : Saturday, 27 September 2025

An educational excursion was organized for the students of Class VIII to the National Science Centre on Saturday, 27 September 2025. The primary objective of the visit was to participate in a specialized workshop titled ‘Celestial Hide & Seek – Workshop on Eclipses’, designed to deepen students’ understanding of solar and lunar eclipses.

A total of 129 students, accompanied by 12 teachers, attended the workshop. The session began with a demonstrative lecture that clearly explained the scientific principles behind eclipses. Students enthusiastically engaged in interactive activities that fostered curiosity and reinforced their learning through hands-on experience.

This was followed by the Science on a Sphere (SOS) Show - a dynamic 3D visual presentation that showcased a range of celestial events. The immersive visuals captivated the audience and significantly enhanced their comprehension of astronomical phenomena.

Highlights of the Visit :

• Clear and engaging explanation of eclipse mechanics.
• Hands-on activities that fostered active participation and curiosity.
• Immersive visual experience through the SOS Show.

The visit concluded on an inspiring note, motivating students to further explore the wonders of space and astronomy. It was an informative and enriching experience for the students and teachers.

CLEANLINESS AWARENESS WALK SWACHHATA PAKHWADA
Dates: 16th – 30th September 2025

As part of Swachhata Pakhwada (16th - 30th September), a Cleanliness Awareness Walk was organized on 29th September in Delhi Public School, Dwarka for students of Classes VI to VIII. The theme of the activity was ‘Be the Change - Keep the Surroundings Clean’.

The programme began with students preparing posters and placards highlighting the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental care. Carrying these posters, the students actively participated in the walk within the school premises. They also chanted inspiring slogans on cleanliness to spread awareness among their fellow schoolmates.

The aim of this initiative was to encourage students to take responsibility for their surroundings and to motivate others to adopt cleanliness as a way of life. The walk created a positive impact by reminding everyone that a clean environment is the first step towards a healthy and progressive society.

The activity concluded with a short interactive session where teachers and students discussed how small efforts, like avoiding littering and keeping classrooms clean, can bring about significant change.

Overall, the cleanliness awareness walk was a great success, instilling in the students the spirit of responsibility and the message of ‘Swachhata hi Seva’.
