VIBGYOR #2 - A FESTIVE FUSION OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
CLASSES : VI - IX & XI
DPS Dwarka orgainsed VIBGYOR #2 on Saturday, 13 December 2025 turning the campus into a kaleidoscope of imagination, intellect and collaboration. Around 800 students of Classes VI‑IX and XI showcased their talents in academic, artistic and vocational displays with each department adding its own hue to the grand mosaic.
English Department
The English Department created an immersive literary space where creativity blended beautifully with language learning. Captivating choral recitations by Classes VIII and IX filled the venue with rhythmic harmony and poetic eloquence. The Character Parade by Classes VI and VII added charm as students stepped into the shoes of famous fictional characters, bringing stories to life with expressive costumes and mannerisms.
Language Games such as Preposition Pin Wheel, Synonym–Antonym matches, sentence identification, crosswords, and Word Bingo kept visitors actively engaged. A variety of models, poetry displays, prose compositions, and visually appealing charts further highlighted the linguistic flair and artistic expression of the students.
Hindi Department
The Hindi Department showcased a thoughtfully designed series of activities that made grammar and vocabulary exciting and interactive. Students of Classes VI–IX conducted games on antonyms, gender, synonyms, and classification riddles, encouraging visitors to participate and learn through play.
A powerful and socially relevant nukkad natak presented by Class IX students stood out as the highlight. The street-play skillfully portrayed educational values and moral principles, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. The combination of language-based activities and dramatic presentation made the department’s contribution dynamic and enriching.
German Department
The German exhibition presented a lively and culturally rich environment, decorated in the striking colours of the German flag—black, red, and gold. Students displayed bilingual vocabulary posters, travel brochures, menus, and model houses reflecting German architectural styles.
Interactive stations allowed visitors to learn basic German greetings, numbers, colours, and simple conversational phrases. Creative exhibits on German festivals, food, personalities, and inventions added depth and diversity.
The Brandenburg Gate–themed selfie point attracted enthusiastic participants, while quiz activities such as ‘Guess the German Word’ and culture-based rapid-fire rounds built curiosity and excitement. Parents appreciated the students’ confidence, clarity of explanation, and cultural understanding.
Japanese Department
The Japanese exhibition offered a vibrant blend of tradition and modernity. A dedicated technology zone introduced visitors to Japan’s leadership in robotics, AI, and transportation, featuring models such as the iconic Bullet Train.
The Anime & Pop Culture Pavilion delighted students with character cut-outs, artwork, and a lively anime ramp walk. Japanese music, kimono displays, and cuisine presentations such as obentō boxes added authenticity and flavour.
The Origami Corner displayed exquisite paper-folding art—from cranes and flowers to modern engineering-inspired designs. Overall, the exhibition brought alive the aesthetic refinement and innovation that Japan is celebrated for.
Russian Department
The Russian exhibition highlighted the strong cultural and scientific partnership between India and Russia. Colourful stalls showcased Russian literature, cartoons, traditional attire, and famous personalities.
Models of the BrahMos missile and the SU-500 fighter jet, representing Indo-Russian technological collaboration, emerged as major attractions. A corner dedicated to the beloved characters Masha and the Bear added a fun, child-friendly dimension.
A special display on the Tolstoy & Gandhi Centre emphasised universal values of peace and truth. Traditional Russian games engaged visitors throughout, making the experience enjoyable and educational.
French & Spanish Department
The French and Spanish display celebrated global cultures through language-based projects, vocabulary charts, festival boards, menus, brochures, and creative student presentations. The exhibits highlighted cultural awareness, linguistic appreciation, and students’ growing confidence in foreign languages. The department’s collective effort fostered global sensibilities among learners.
Sanskrit Department
The Sanskrit Department presented activities rooted in India’s ancient wisdom and cultural heritage. Students explained the 16 Samskaras through charts and models, helping visitors understand the importance of these traditional life rituals.
Interactive games on Chatur Āśrama made the concept accessible and engaging. A melodious Sanskrit group song added aesthetic beauty, while grammar-based activities encouraged active involvement. The department’s presentation reinforced the classical richness of Sanskrit.
Mathematics Department
The Mathematics Department showcased the subject’s beauty, logic, and practical relevance through a variety of concept-driven activities.
The Game Zone featured puzzles, probability tasks, and reasoning challenges that attracted enthusiastic participation. Working models demonstrated real-life applications of geometry, algebra, mensuration, and trigonometry.
A standout attraction, ‘Geo Glam – Maths on Ramp’, featured outfits inspired by geometric shapes and tessellations, merging art with mathematics. Demonstrations of Vedic Math shortcuts, Rubik’s cube-solving algorithms, and abacus techniques further enhanced the appeal of the display.
Physics Department
The Physics display combined scientific curiosity with hands-on exploration. Working models of a gyroscope, an earthquake detector, and a hydraulic lift helped simplify complex concepts.
Infinity mirrors drew attention with their optical illusions, while a functional barometer demonstrated atmospheric pressure.
Class IX students creatively calculated heights using equations of motion.
A rocket-themed selfie point and a role parade of famous scientists added colour and excitement to the department’s presentation.
Chemistry Department
The Chemistry Department offered a multi-layered experience through games, experiments, and environmental themes. ‘Toss the Ring, Spin the Wheel’ connected chemistry with everyday life and ecological concerns.
A selfie point themed around elemental nourishment emphasised the role of chemical elements in sustaining life. Students staged a skit on the harmful overuse of palm oil and recited a parody explaining important elements.
A broad range of working models—water filtration, electrolysis, acid rain, fractional distillation, potato batteries, and invisible ink demonstrations—showcased chemistry’s relevance and wonder.
Biology Department
The Biology Department displayed an extensive array of models and interactive activities. Ecosystems, human physiology, e-waste management, and irrigation techniques were explained through detailed models.
Games such as ‘What’s in the Box, Whiff & Win, Biocipher, and Fact or Cap’ kept visitors engaged. A skit titled ‘Sugar: The Sweet Enemy’ highlighted the health risks of excessive sugar intake.
The DNA Fingerprinting Corner fascinated visitors by demonstrating its use in crime investigation. Leaf paintings and thematic hangings added artistic charm to the scientific display.
Geography Department
Each class presented a well-structured thematic display:
- Class VI showcased ‘India that is Bharat’ through Harappan city models, diversity collages, and 3D maps.
- Class VII highlighted India’s wonders with posters, weather instruments, and festival charts.
- Class VIII linked agriculture to India’s freedom struggle through soil conservation models and crop-based exhibits.
- Class IX presented natural vegetation, endangered species, and a 3D model of forest distribution.
- Class XI conducted a Map Trivia Challenge that tested spatial and historical knowledge.
Together, the exhibits reflected India’s geographical richness and diversity.
History & Political Science
The Social Science display merged history, civics, and creativity.
- Class VI produced magazines on key concepts.
- Class VII presented models of heritage sites and the Battle of Hydaspes.
- Class VIII showcased a detailed New Parliament model, charts on the Indigo Rebellion, and crossword puzzles on the National Movement.
- Class IX designed placards on Fundamental Rights and constituent assembly members.
A separate Political Science corner featured models on political parties, the functioning of Parliament, and a nukkad natak on corruption, highlighting civic awareness.
Economics Department
The Economics exhibition explained development concepts through visually appealing models. Displays included a Modern Village, Factors of Production, Sectors of the Economy, the Public Distribution System, the Banking System, and Sustainable Small-Scale Industries.
Engaging games like ‘Budget Quest’ and ‘Guess the Sector’ helped visitors grasp economic ideas through play. Small handmade gifts added an element of motivation and appreciation.
Sociology Department
The Sociology Department presented the Social Gridlock game, where students answered sociological questions to earn an X or O in a tic-tac-toe grid.
Models depicted gender inequality and Karl Marx’s base–superstructure theory.
The ‘Unity in Diversity’ selfie corner showcased India’s cultural variety through attire, cuisines, and dance forms, drawing many enthusiastic visitors.
Robotics (Robodex Club)
The Robodex Club offered an exciting display of automated models, including line-following robots, obstacle-avoidance systems, irrigation devices, and smart homes.
RoboRace challenged participants to navigate complex tracks, while RoboSoccer created a competitive and energetic atmosphere. The exhibition truly reflected innovation, teamwork, and applied technology.
Commerce Department
Interactive Commerce stalls introduced visitors to business concepts through three engaging sections: Profit Pursuit (Mock Stock Market), Chase the Ladder (Business Quiz), and Bizcraft (Handmade Product Display).
Students demonstrated an understanding of financial decision-making, branding, marketing, and entrepreneurship. The handmade products showcased creativity and practical skills.
Computer Department
The Computer Department featured podcasts created with students and parents, digital presentations, and an IoT-based smart home automation model.
A smart city demonstration, digital art gallery, and AI-generated posters showcased the integration of creativity with technology. Robotics models and QR-enabled portfolios created a modern, interactive experience.
Psychology & Counselling
Aligned with the theme colour Violet, the Psychology Department presented interactive zones such as a live quiz, wellness bingo, Stroop test, Müller–Lyer illusion, sensory boxes, and calming sensory bottles.
A 3D Maslow’s Hierarchy model, role plays, resilience tree, gratitude jar, and the display of model related to myths and facts about counselling promoted emotional well-being and awareness. The photo booth and wellness board added thoughtful, reflective elements.
Yoga Department
Students across Classes VI–XI presented yoga demonstrations based on themes like ‘Healthy Body, Calm Mind’, ‘Yoga for Inner Strength’, and ‘Yoga and Mental Well-Being’.
Activities included Surya Namaskar, breathing exercises, advanced asanas, guided meditation sessions, and competitions identifying yoga poses. Informative models and placards strengthened the educational impact.
Chess Department
The Chess display highlighted the sport’s strategic depth. Students explained basic rules, showcased famous players, demonstrated tactical tools such as forks and pins, and presented a 3D chessboard model.
Interactive quizzes and timed puzzle challenges encouraged analytical thinking, concentration, and problem-solving.
Fine Arts Department
The Fine Arts display blended creativity with environmental responsibility. Wood block printing on handmade newspaper bags reinforced sustainable art practices.
Class-wise exhibits included portraits on egg trays, tribal masks, bottle art, decorative hangings from waste material, sandpaper paintings, and collage work using recycled items. The department’s display stood out for its vibrancy and craftsmanship.
Library – The Joy of Reading
The library displayed a diverse collection of storybooks, magazines, and works of Hindi authors. Storytelling sessions by Classes VI and VII added liveliness and encouraged young readers to explore literature with enthusiasm.
Vocational Skills
Based on the Kaushal Bodh books design by the NCERT, the Creative Club presented paintings on bamboo trays and eco-printing techniques. In the ‘Cooking Without Fire’ section, Class VI designed menus, Class VII created thematic banners, and Class VIII demonstrated live no-fire recipes.
The Design & Innovation corner featured tissue-paper flowers and corrugated paper constructions, displaying students’ craftsmanship and imagination.
VIBGYOR #2 emerged as a dynamic celebration of learning, creativity, and collaboration. Each department contributed meaningfully, allowing students to express their ideas through models, performances, games, and interactive demonstrations. Kudos to the students, faculty, and organisers for crafting an event that will linger in the memories, inspiring future endeavours on the path of wisdom and exploration.
