NATIONAL INTER-DPS WESTERN VOCAL MUSIC FESTIVAL 2025

DPS Dwarka hosted the National Inter-DPS Western Vocal Music Festival on Saturday, 15 November 2025, under the aegis of The DPS Society. The event was graced by the distinguished presence of Mr. V. K. Shunglu, Vice Chairman, The DPS Society, Ms. Madhu Shunglu, and Ms. Sunita Tanwar, Secretary, The DPS Society.

Around 600 participants from 70 Delhi Public Schools pan India participated in the preliminary round of this grand event. For the final round, participants from 27 qualifying schools competed for the coveted trophy. Competitions in both categories, Solo Song and Group Song, were adjudged by a distinguished panel of judges.

The Valedictory Ceremony culminated in a spectacular musical concert, leaving the audience spellbound. It featured enchanting performance by the School Band, a mesmerizing rendition by the School Choir and an electrifying piano recital by Ammie Arora, the youngest retro female pianist and the Head Girl, DPS Dwarka. The programme transported the audience into a realm of symphonic euphoria, creating a truly unforgettable experience.

Mr. V. K. Shunglu, Vice Chairman, The DPS Society, emphasised that National Inter-DPS events aim to provide valuable platform for students to showcase their talent. He encouraged them to pursue their passion with dedication, regardless of the challenges they may face.

Ms. Priya Narayanan, Principal, DPS Dwarka, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and highlighted the timeless power of music in uniting all fellow beings. She emphasised the significance of such events in building strong friendships, promoting social cohesion and providing a support network that positively contributes to overall well-being. She encouraged students to view this event not merely as a competition, but as a celebration of connection through the universal language of music.

In the Solo Song Competition, the Rolling Trophy was bagged by DPS Faridabad, Sector-19. DPS Durgapur secured the second position and DPS Ruby Park, Kolkata and DPS Indore secured the third position. In the Group Song Competition, the team from DPS R.K. Puram was the proud winner of the Rolling Trophy. DPS Faridabad, Sector-19 and DPS Vasant Kunj secured the second and third position respectively.

The event concluded on a harmonious note, celebrating not only remarkable musical talent but also the spirit of collaboration and camaraderie among DPS schools across the country. The festival provided a vibrant platform for young music lovers to express their passion, learn from one another, and strengthen bonds through the shared language of music. With memorable performances and inspiring moments, the National Inter-DPS Western Vocal Music Festival 2025 truly stood out as an enriching and uplifting experience for all participants and attendees.

    CLASSES VI-VIII CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION

    Delhi Public School, Dwarka celebrated Children’s Day on 14 November 2025 with great enthusiasm and delight. Students of Classes VI to VIII actively participated in a vibrant array of activities organised to mark this special occasion. A lively mix of skits, speeches, music, and dance performances provided students with an excellent platform to showcase their creativity, confidence, and artistic talents. For the events, students were divided into small groups, which added to the spirit of teamwork and collaboration.

    In addition to these activities, students of Class VI thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie 'Dhanak' in the school auditorium. The movie screening added to the festive spirit of the day and provided students an opportunity to relax and bond with their peers.

    The celebration aimed to honour the essence of childhood and offer meaningful opportunities to students to express their joy. The school encouraged enthusiastic participation, ensuring that the programme remained colourful, engaging, and memorable. With diverse performances and wholehearted involvement from all participants, the event proved to be a truly joyful and enriching Children’s Day celebration.

      PRE-SCHOOL - V CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION
      Day/Date: Friday, 14 November 2025

      Children’s Day celebrates the precious gift of childhood and the future of our nation. To make it memorable and to honour Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's vision for children based on the belief that they are the future of the nation and must be nurtured with love, education and dignity, classes Preschool to II celebrated Friday, 14 November 2025 as Bagless Day. Activities were conducted successfully both in offline and online i.e. hybrid mode.

      CLASS PRE SCHOOL

      Pre-schoolers looked adorable in their party wear and participated in a variety of exciting activities planned for the day. They enjoyed Free Hand Drawing, an engaging Movie Time, and a lively Dance Session that filled the atmosphere with fun and laughter.

      The highlight of the celebration was the Cooking Without Fire activity, where children prepared a delicious dessert using bread, chocolate spread, and colourful gems. The activity encouraged creativity and hands-on learning.

      CLASS PRE-PRIMARY

      The celebration began with Rose Thumb Printing, where children made beautiful rose with their thumbprints, symbolizing love and innocence. To keep the excitement alive, the children took part in the Freeze Dance and Simon Says games, which brought smiles and giggles all around followed by a Short Fun Movie, which conveyed an inspiring message about kindness and sharing.

      As a sweet ending to the celebration, little munchkins made a Take-Away Craft which they proudly took back home along with lacing puzzles and chocolates.

      CLASSES I AND II

      To encourage students to explore learning beyond textbooks and schoolbags and to help them enjoy a lighter, more engaging day filled with fun activities, the BAGLESS DAY - ‘NO BAG DAY’ for the students of classes I and II was organized as Talent Show Time. It was a day without the usual school bags, and students were encouraged to participate in various hands-on learning activities, interactive sessions and games. The students gave mesmerizing song and dance performances. Poetry recitation, playing of instrumental music and making origami figures formed the integral part of the talent show. Class 1 students made a beautiful craft and decorated it creatively with ribbons, feathers, stickers, ice-cream sticks etc

      It was a day filled with fun, laughter, and bonding. The children participated in various activities with great gusto and the activities ensured that each child felt valued and loved.

      CLASSES III - V

      Children’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy on 14th November through the hybrid platform for the students of classes III - V. The celebration was filled with fun, laughter and excitement.

      The celebration began with a short assembly, where the teachers spoke about the importance of the day and shared a few words about Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, whose love for children made this day so special.

      Various activities were done by the students, such as drawing, storytelling, magic tricks, poem recitation etc. Many students displayed their creativity and confidence by performing patriotic songs from their homes.

      The celebration reminded everyone that joy and togetherness can be felt even through screens when hearts are connected.

      The day was truly memorable, filled with happiness, laughter, and a spirit of unity.

          GURUPURAB CELEBRATIONS

          CLASSES : PRE-SCHOOL – II GURUPURAB CELEBRATIONS

          The celebration of Guru Nanak Jayanti, commemorating the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji was marked with great enthusiasm and reverence across the Primary Wing on Tuesday, 04 November 2025. Each class participated in activities designed to impart the teachings and values of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, fostering an atmosphere of spirituality and unity.

          Pre-School: The day started with a heartfelt prayer session where children recited the ‘Mool Mantra’ under the guidance of their teachers. The significance of the mantra was explained using relatable examples that resonated with young minds. To enhance cultural understanding, students came dressed in traditional attire and brought a scarf/handkerchief to cover their heads.

          A captivating story time followed, where teachers presented an enlightening skit on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak’s Dev ji and emphasizing the three golden rules:

          • Naam Japo (Remember God's name)
          • Kirat Karo (Earn honestly)
          • Vand Chakho (Share with others)

          Children also watched a short and inspiring movie on Guru Nanak Devji. They were also engaged in a creative activity wherein they decorated the Gurudwara with golden glitter.

          Pre-Primary: The pre-primary class celebrated with equal zeal. Children with their heads covered, were immersed in the stories of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life and teachings, reinforced with examples that highlighted the relevance of the three golden principles. The session concluded with the children listening to the ‘Ek Onkar’ verse, meditating with closed eyes as the divine melody filled the classroom.

          Class I : Students of Class I experienced an enriching celebration where they watched a video that not only explained the significance of Guru Nanak Jayanti but also introduced them to the ten Sikh Gurus. The story of Guru Nanak Dev Ji was retold with enthusiasm, and children recited ‘Ek Onkar’ with devotion, immersing themselves in the spiritual ambiance.

          Class II : Class II hosted a special assembly titled ‘Prakash Utsav’ to mark the occasion. The event began with a soulful prayer followed by the story of the Sacha Sauda, where Guru Nanak ji used money meant for profit to feed hungry sadhus, teaching the world that true profit lies in kindness and generosity. Speakers from the class highlighted the festival's importance and Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings, reinforcing values of equality and righteousness.

          The celebration of Guru Nanak Jayanti across all classes was a resounding success. Through prayers, stories, creative activities and assemblies, students learnt valuable lessons on love, kindness and equality. The teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji—emphasizing brotherhood and ethical living—continue to guide us on a path of compassion and harmony.

            INTER HOUSE SPELL BEE COMPETITION

            INTER HOUSE SPELL BEE COMPETITION
            CLASSES: VI TO VIII

            The Inter-House Spell Bee Competition for classes VI to VIII was organized by Chenab House with the aim of enhancing students’ vocabulary, spelling accuracy, and language proficiency.

            The Preliminary Round was conducted on 13 October 2025 (Monday), where students from all houses participated enthusiastically. A list of ten grade / age appropriate words was spelt out and students wrote their spellings on their sheets. The top scorers from this round qualified for the Final Round, which was held on 30 October 2025 (Thursday).

            In the Final Round, the selected participants once again faced the same challenge of spelling 10 new words but with a higher difficulty level. The competition witnessed an impressive display of confidence and linguistic skill as students represented their houses with great zeal.

            The competition not only encouraged students to improve their spelling abilities but also promoted healthy inter-house competition and a love for the English language.

              REPORT ON INCLUSIVITY

              Objective:

              • The objective of conducting the Inclusivity Quiz was to help students understand the importance of inclusion and respect for all. The activity aimed to promote empathy, kindness and acceptance, encouraging students to make sure everyone feels valued and included.

              Activity Conducted:

              • An Inclusivity Quiz was organized for students of Classes II to IV. The quiz included simple, engaging questions and everyday situations that encouraged children to think about how they can include others and be kind in different settings.
              • A short video on empathy and inclusion was also shown to students of Classes II to V to reinforce the message of caring for and supporting one another.

              Conclusion:

              • The quiz encouraged students to reflect on their actions and understand that inclusion means treating everyone with kindness and ensuring no one feels left out. The activity helped foster empathy, friendship, and a sense of belonging among all students.
