AWARENESS AND SENSITIZATION MODULE NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY
CLASSES : III TO V

National Girl Child Day was celebrated on 23 January 2026 by the students of Classes III to V as part of the Awareness and Sensitization Module .The activity aimed to create awareness about the importance of the girl child and promote gender equality. Teachers explained in simple language the challenges faced by girls in society and emphasized that boys and girls deserve equal respect, love, and opportunities. Students participated in an art activity by drawing and decorating a beam balance on an A-4 pastel sheet to symbolize equality between boys and girls. They also spoke a few lines on “Gender Equality,” expressing their thoughts confidently.

All students participated enthusiastically and the activity helped promote values of fairness, respect, creativity, and empathy in a joyful and age-appropriate manner.

    To instil a sense of patriotism, courage, and respect for our national heroes among students, the school organized a series of activities on the occasion of Republic Day, Parakram Diwas, and Army Day for students of Classes III to V from Monday, 19 January 2026 to Friday, 23 January 2026.

    Army Day

    To mark Army Day, special activities were conducted to honour the bravery and sacrifices of Indian soldiers. Students made posters showing soldiers protecting the nation and wrote slogans expressing gratitude towards the Indian Army. These posters were displayed on the corridor boards later. Teachers explained the role of the armed forces in safeguarding the country, which helped students develop respect and pride for our soldiers.

    Parakram Diwas

    Delhi Public School, Primary Wing, commemorated Parakram Diwas on 22 January 2026 with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The occasion was observed to honour the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and to instil the values of courage, determination, and selfless service among young learners.

    Students of Grades 3, 4, and 5 were introduced to the significance of Parakram Diwas through engaging discussions and age-appropriate narratives highlighting the life and contributions of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

    Adding colour and creativity to the celebration, the children enthusiastically created beautiful posters depicting themes of patriotism, courage, and national pride. The activity not only encouraged artistic expression but also deepened their understanding of the values symbolised by Parakram Diwas.

    The celebration proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience, fostering awareness, creativity, and a sense of pride in India’s rich history among the students.

    Republic Day

    Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of Classes 3- 5. The celebration aimed to help children understand the importance of our Constitution and the values of freedom, unity, and equality.

    The students actively participated in various creative activities. They made colourful posters showing the Indian flag, national symbols, and great leaders of India. Many students wrote beautiful poems expressing their love for the country. Others created short and meaningful slogans highlighting unity, patriotism, and respect for the nation.

    The classrooms were decorated with tricolour drawings and inspiring messages. Students confidently explained their posters and recited their poems in front of their classmates. A class assembly was also conducted by the students which helped students feel proud of being Indians and encouraged them to become responsible citizens of the country.

    Conclusion

    The activities conducted for Republic Day, Parakram Diwas, and Army Day were informative and engaging. They provided a wonderful platform for students to showcase their creativity while learning about national values, courage, and patriotism. The enthusiastic participation of students made the events successful and meaningful.

      “As the nation unfurls its tricolor high,

      And spring adorns the land with golden sky,

      May we pursue knowledge, unity, and progress, reaching ever nigh.”

      Delhi Public School, Dwarka celebrated the 77th Republic Day in joyful harmony with the festival of Basant Panchami on Thursday, 22 January 2026, creating a vibrant blend of patriotism and cultural richness.

      The special assembly was organised by the Hindi Department. The programme commenced with a serene prayer led by Ms. Priya Narayanan, Principal, DPS Dwarka setting a solemn tone for the celebration. This was followed by a soulful rendition of Saraswati Vandana by the school choir, seeking the Goddess’ divine blessings on this pious occasion.

      Students of Class VIII enthralled the gathering with thought provoking recitation and poetry highlighting the themes of prosperity, new beginnings, and national pride. A lively talk show and an energetic dance performance further showcased India’s rich social, cultural, and spiritual ethos.

      The students then took a pledge to uphold their duties as responsible citizens.

      One of the highlights of the programme was the prize distribution ceremony. 5 students of DPS Dwarka who won the prestigious Golden Pen, Silver Pen & Bronze Pen Awards in the Inter-DPS Essay Writing Competition (English and Hindi) organised by the DPS Society were felicitated by the Principal for their outstanding achievements. Winners of Annual Inter-School Japanese Language Festival, painting and essay writing competitions organised by the Russian Cultural Embassy were also honoured.

      The celebration concluded with a heartfelt rendition of the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with pride, unity, and reverence for the motherland. The event stood as a meaningful tribute to India’s rich heritage and its enduring spirit of unity in diversity.

        The students of Pre-School and Pre-Primary celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The children were warmly welcomed into their classrooms with patriotic songs played on the digital boards, creating a joyful and patriotic atmosphere.

        The celebration began with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by patriotic rhymes and songs recited cheerfully by the children. Teachers explained the importance of Republic Day in a simple and child-friendly manner. A PowerPoint presentation was shown to help children understand the significance of the national festival in an engaging way.

        As part of the creative activities, Pre-School children enjoyed tricolour sponge painting on balloons using saffron, white, and green colours. Pre-Primary students made tricolour Republic Day cards, these activities allowed children to express their creativity and take their work home as a takeaway.

        The celebration was joyful, meaningful, and memorable, helping young learners develop love, respect, and pride for their country in an enjoyable learning environment.

          On 26 January 2026, the nation will mark the 77th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India, celebrating its 77th Republic Day.

          Classes I and II conducted various activities in hybrid mode to mark the day.

          COLORS OF FREEDOM

          Instilling a sense of patriotism in the children is like planting a seed of love for their country that will grow with them. A discussion was held in class I on Thursday, 22 January 2026 to highlight the importance of Republic Day. The students were creatively engaged in making of Republic Day craft as well. They made photo frames and significance of National flag and the colors of National flag were emphasized upon.

          CELEBRATING REPUBLIC DAY WITH PATRIOTISM

          On Friday, 23 January 2026, the activity “Celebrating Republic Day with Patriotism” was successfully conducted by class II students .The objective of the activity was to help students understand the significance of Republic Day and to instill a sense of patriotism among them.

          As part of the activity, students expressed their love for the country through creative slogan writing. Students showed great interest and creativity while presenting their slogans, making the hybrid celebration lively and inspiring.

          The activities successfully helped students cherish the spirit of freedom and national pride.

            To mark the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, a special celebration for the children in an engaging manner was organised. Teachers of Pre-school and Pre-Primary explained the significance of this special day to the curious learners. They were also shown a beautiful PPT which helped them understand the importance of Goddess Saraswati - the goddess of knowledge & learning and pictures of beautiful flowers were shown to depict Spring season. Later, the children happily participated in a creative activity. They coloured the picture of Goddess Saraswati and pasted small books made from origami sheets in their worksheets. The children of Pre-Primary participated in making a sunflower craft using bright yellow colour and took it home as a takeaway.The celebration helped children appreciate the beauty of Spring season and understand the importance of knowledge and wisdom.

              Delhi Public School, Dwarka solemnly conducted a Flag Hoisting Ceremony on 23 January in the school campus to mark the spirit of patriotism and national pride. The ceremony was graced by the respected Principal, Ms. Priya Narayanan, who had the honour of hoisting the National Flag.

              The programme commenced with the unfurling of the Tricolour, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, creating an atmosphere of reverence and unity. The ceremony was conducted in a dignified manner, keeping in view the prevailing weather conditions.

              Addressing the gathering, the Principal highlighted the significance of national values, discipline, and collective responsibility in nation-building. The ceremony served as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and reinforced the ideals of unity, integrity, and pride in our country.

              The event concluded on a respectful and dignified note, reflecting DPS Dwarka’s commitment to upholding national traditions and values.

                    Delhi Public School, Dwarka successfully conducted a Disaster Management Mock Drill on Thursday, 15 January 2026 at 12:00 noon as part of its ongoing commitment to student safety, preparedness and emergency response training.

                    The mock drill was carried out smoothly and systematically in accordance with established Disaster Management guidelines. Prior information regarding the drill was shared with all stakeholders to ensure awareness and preparedness. Emergency contact services were duly informed in advance for coordination and safety assurance.

                    Students and staff participated actively and responsibly throughout the exercise. All safety procedures were followed meticulously and evacuation as well as response protocols were executed efficiently under the supervision of designated Zone In-charges and Coordinators. Their alertness, leadership and timely guidance ensured smooth movement and effective management of students during the drill.

                    The exercise concluded successfully without any inconvenience, reinforcing the importance of preparedness, discipline and teamwork in handling emergency situations. Such drills play a vital role in sensitizing students and staff, enhancing awareness and building confidence to respond effectively during real-life emergencies.

                    Delhi Public School, Dwarka remains committed to conducting regular safety drills to foster a secure and resilient school environment.

                      The festival of Lohri was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm by the children of Preschool and Early Years 1. The celebration began with an engaging PPT presentation and a simple story, through which the children learned about the significance of Lohri, the harvest season, and the beautiful tradition of celebrating warmth, gratitude, and togetherness.

                      To make the learning experience more enjoyable and interactive, the children enthusiastically participated in a craft activity, where they created a Lohri bonfire using various art and craft materials. This hands-on activity sparked creativity and excitement among the little learners. Lohri celebration indeed , was a joyful and enriching experience that helped children understand Indian culture and festivals in a meaningful and age-appropriate way, blending learning with fun and creativity
